Must Have:
- Ruby on Rails: Proficient in Ruby development, specifically using Rails 7.1 and the latest version.
- Backgroud jobs: Experience with background job processing and caching using Sidekiq.
- Redis: Experience with using, setting up and troubleshooting redis and optimising it for caching and pub/sub functionalities.
- MySQL (8): Strong SQL skills with MySQL, including knowledge of indexing and query optimization for performance. Good knowledge of performance insights.
- ActiveRecord ORM: Familiar with Rails’ ActiveRecord for ORM and database management. Understanding the pain points and way to optimize it for higher performance.
- Frontend Development with Haml: Proficient in server-side rendering using Haml templates for Ruby mixed with HTML.
- Email Management: Understanding of server-side email dispatch with knowledge of how to set up, configure, and troubleshoot mailing processes.
- Containerization And Orchestration: Experience in dockerising and strong knowledge about the Docker best practises.
- Third-Party Integration: Knowledge of integrating external services or APIs.
- Knowledge of Additional Gems and Libraries: Awareness of commonly used Ruby gems that improve performance, security, and maintainability.
- Soft Skills: Good communication in English, team collaboration abilities, and a results-driven mindset.
Nice to have:
- CI/CD: Skilled in Jenkins, Bitbucket Pipelines or any other.
- Hosting and Deployment: Familiarity with cloud hosting solutions and deployment processes.
